The Department of Justice of the Federated States of Micronesia is one of the departments of the FSM Government.  It is primarily responsible for enforcing national laws and ensuing that justice across the nation.  Its main roles include:

1. Enforcing National Laws: The DOJ ensures that national laws are applied and respected. DOJ responsibility includes everything from criminal investigations and prosecutions to civil rights protections.
2. Criminal Prosecutions: Through the Division of Litigation, the DOJ prosecutes criminal cases under national law. 
3. Legal Advice and Representation: The DOJ provides legal advice to the President, Executive Branch, Departments and Agencies of the National Government. It represents the FSM Government in civil lawsuits filed against it, its departments and offices.  
4. Protecting Civil Rights:  The DOJ plays a crucial role in safeguarding civil rights and ensuring  that all citizens are treated equally under the law. This includes  enforcing laws against discrimination.
5. Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT): The DOJ has primary responsibility in combatting money laundering and human trafficking. The DOJ works with the US Government and other partners on AHT matters.
6. National Security:  The DOJ works to protect national security by addressing issues such as  terrorism and cyber threats. It coordinates with regional and  international security and law enforcement networks and partners to  safeguard the nation.

Overall,  the DOJ plays a crucial role in maintaining the rule of law, ensuring  justice, and upholding the legal framework that supports the National  Government and the nation as whole and to ensure peace and order in the  communities.
